The Company has always paid and continues to pay great attention to industrial safety and labor protection of employees. Particular attention is paid to the safety of work during transition periods, because it is with the onset of the off-season that ice build-ups - icicles are actively formed on the eaves of the roofs of buildings and structures. In order to minimize injuries and simplify work, reduce the load on the eaves, as well as ensure safety, icicles have to be removed in a timely manner.

Removing icicles from roofs is a labour intensive process. It requires a lot of time, the use of special equipment, the involvement of specially trained specialists in the work.

To facilitate and simplify this process, the employees of the Company have developed a special device that excludes manual labor and an auto-hydraulic lift.

The designed device has been effectively used at the Yuzhno-Russkoye field for two years now. And during this time, in practice, it was possible to prove that the utility model patented in the summer of 2021 is a simple, reliable, safe device for cleaning roofs from icicles. Cutting icicles off the eaves is now faster, easier and cheaper.

The construction works as follows. The device for removing icicles from the eaves of the roof consists of a special guide (pos. 3) fixed in a given place of the building and a mechanism moving along it like a rail. The mechanism (pos. A), reminiscent of a carriage, is equipped with several road wheels, allowing in any weather, regardless of the formation of ice, to move freely along the eaves of the building and cut off the icicles with a specially fixed knife (pos. 6). This design is driven by a block device (Fig. B), which allows moving the cable attached to the carriage from the safe zone.

A distinctive feature of this model from analogs is the fact that the thrust roller is located under the roof of the cornice, which protects it from snow and rain and prevents ice from forming on the device, and the knife moves, knocking down, chipping off ice obstacles in its path. This design is quite simple to manufacture.

The claimed technical solution has a social and economic effect, is aimed at increasing the level of labor protection by reducing the risk of injury, reducing labor costs and time, has high efficiency, reliability, safety of operation.

The authors of the invention are confident that this engineering development can be used not only at industrial facilities, but also in everyday life.
