OJSC Severneftegazprom Participated in a Snowmobile Race Dedicated to the Anniversaries of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region and Novy Urengoy town

OJSC Severneftegazprom took part in a snowmobile race dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region and the 40th anniversary of Novy Urengoy town.

The crew of the race was featured by top management from OAO Gazprom subsidiaries and representatives of regional and municipal authorities.

The race was launched on the 10th of April starting from Salekhard city and finished on the 11th of April in Novy Urengoy. Over these two days the participants drove by snowmobiles more than 600 km along the route “Salekhard - Nyda – Novy Urengoy”. Some part of the route ran through the frozen bed of the Ob River and along the 66 parallel of north latitude – Arctic Circle.

With just some short pit stops in the area of Aksarka and Salemal settlements to refuel and check the equipment, the first point after 220 km of drive where the participants could get a rest and lunch was Kutopjugan settlement. After another 134 km, the crew stopped for overnight in Nyda settlement.

11 April, leaving behind more than 250 km, the drivers finished their snowmobile race on the Memory Square in Novy Urengoy.
