OJSC Severneftegazprom Wins the NEW IDEA Contest

In November 2017, OJSC Severneftegazprom’s employees took part in the NEW IDEA contest held throughout Russia to identify the best R&D project presented by the young personnel of the fuel and energy sector companies. Over the last three years, the Federal State Autonomous Institution of Senior Executives and Experts’ Additional Professional Education in the Fuel and Energy Industry has been a host of this Contest held under the tutelage of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.

The competition is two-staged. The first stage considers submitting applications and contest projects that are scrutinized by experts. The second stage – a major one – is a presentation of a project. In 2017, 100 companies involved in the industry submitted 198 projects in 17 sessions. Around 70 experts estimated the projects.

OJSC Severneftegazprom presented the project headlined ‘R&D solutions development and implementation to rise efficiency of preventive works performed on the wells without overhaul’, authored by Andrey Kasyanenko, Chief Engineer – the First Deputy General Director of OJSC Severneftegazprom, Aleksey Legay, Head of Production and Technical Division and Fyodor Cherenkov, Mechanic Engineer of the 2nd category, Chief Mechanic Division.

The contest held in March 2018 acknowledged the Company’s project as the best in the nomination ‘The Best Innovative Product’, in the session ‘Hydrocarbon Production and Treatment at the Developed Fields’.

Background:

All-Russian contest NEW IDEA has been held since 2014 to identify the best R&D project submitted by young specialists of oil and gas companies, aged up to 35. It is possible to participate in a team of not more than 3 people.

The contest is arranged by the Federal State Autonomous Institution of Senior Executives and Experts’ Additional Professional Education in the Fuel and Energy Industry, which is subordinate to the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.
